The Millerntor! The legendary venue of FC St. Pauli, inaugurated in 1961 in Hamburg St. Pauli, is a place of longing – the mood here is absolutely unique. In recent years, the stadium has been redesigned to suit the needs of modern football business. In summer 2012 the last tribune of the old MILLERNTOR was broken down. The new arena was completed and opened in 2015. The old Millerntor, home oft the supporters of the FC St. Pauli, disappeared for ever. Many fans miss their old sports venue.

It lives in the memory of the fans and in this book: The Hamburg photographers Susanne Katzenberg and Olaf Tamm have investigated the cosmos Millerntor and his people, from fan to groundskeeper, over many years. They created a unique stadium portrait with their sensitive and narrative observations. Susanne Katzenberg documented the architecture in colour photographs. Olaf Tamm photographed in black & white the atmosphere, mood and the supporters during matchdays at the MILLERNTOR. In his interview portraits of known and unknown protagonists, the author Ronny Galczynski tells the story and the stories of the old stadium.

This book is a trip to the heart of the FC St. Pauli.
